The Office of EEO is again offering its two day training course
Conducting EEO and Diversity Reviews. This course skills participants
in agency self-assessment of EEO and Diversity outcomes and how to
systematically review their organisation's capacity to use workforce
diversity to its advantage. The course teaches participants how to
assess current EEO and Diversity initiatives, unravel the subtleties of
bias within organisational culture, and identify potential barriers for
the recruitment, retention and development of EEO group members. This is
workshop style training where participants are encouraged to apply their
own organisational experiences to the review process. Training is
enhanced by the exchange of ideas and the many practical examples of the
review process in action that are provided throughout the course.

Participants are also provided with a Review Guide, a comprehensive
manual that follows the four part review process from beginning to end.
The Guide is structured as a self paced learning tool that will assist
the reviewer to conduct an EEO and Diversity review in their
organisation. The approach detailed in the Guide can be adapted to suit
specific organisational needs and can be used for partial or
comprehensive reviews of agency performance in this area.

The training will be conducted in Perth on 22nd and 23rd March 1999.
The fee is $550 and includes a copy of the Review Guide and a follow up
consultancy service from staff at the Office of EEO. The Guide can also
be purchased as a separate item for $400.
