3 Month Acting Opportunity
Senior Analyst - Level 6
Expressions of Interest are sought from suitably qualified and experienced people to be contracted or seconded into the above position within the Industry Branch of the Industry & Community Division of the Office of Energy.
If you are the successful applicant for this opportunity you will be required to monitor and undertake reviews of major strategic issues relating to the Western Australian energy industry. You will also undertake financial, economic and socio-economic cost, benefit and impact analyses of policies and formulate recommendations. In addition you will be required to liaise with stakeholders from the government and private sector over the development of acceptable, practical and equitable policies to meet the Government's energy objectives. You will also be required to prepare reports, briefings and presentations on energy related matters for a range of stakeholders, including the Minister for Energy. In addition you may be required to represent the Office of Energy on appropriate committees and working groups and to assist with the development and implementation of energy reform legislation.
To be considered for this role you will need to have the following skills and experience:
- substantial experience in policy related research, analysis and development;
- substantial analytical and evaluation skills relevant to evaluating complex financial and
economic issues
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
In addition you will need to possess the ability to initiate projects, work with minimal supervision, prioritise work to achieve specified deadlines and work as part of a highly professional team on energy related projects. You should also hold tertiary qualifications in
economics, commerce, engineering, or a similar discipline. It would also be desirable for applicants to have some knowledge of the Western Australian energy sector.
This opportunity will commence at the end of March 2003.
