"SELECTING A GOOD CONSULTANT"
Wednesday 18 February 2004
Registration 4:15pm
Start 4:30pm
Networking and food/beverage refreshments 5:30pm to 6:30pm
Venue: E-Central Theatrette, 2nd floor, 140 Royal St, East Perth
Seminar content:
Selecting an external consultant is as important a task as recruiting
the right people for a job in your organisation.
Do they have the right skills and experience mix to best meet your
needs? This is a fairly obvious consideration. But also: for the
duration of the project the consultant will be representing your agency
to stakeholders, colleagues, superiors, customers, and end users.
Hence, the consultant's values and service standards must match that of
your organisation and also reflect your 'brand'. These considerations
are some that support the notion of 'best value for money' - not always
a simple quantitative exercise.
Consultants also 'selectively' tender to make sure that the agencies
they work with will appropriately and professionally reflect the brand
they have established and are seeking to promote for their company - no
matter how micro. Is your agency, and the project managers you choose
to manage contracts, professional enough to make the grade with the
consultant you want to use?
