applications from experienced events specialists to fill a 12 month vacancy
in the full time position of Events and Functions Co-ordinator
EVENTS AND FUNCTIONS CO-ORDINATOR
Level 4
$46,641 - $49,293 pa
The Role
Perth Zoo is a leader in conservation, endangered species breeding programs
and public education. The Zoo has also been winner for 1998, 1999 and 2000
as Major Tourist Attraction in the Western Australian Tourism Awards, and
won the Tourism Marketing Campaign Award in 2001.
The position of Events and Functions Co-ordinator is responsible for
planning and organising major Zoo events which may involve up to 5000
visitors; co-ordinating on-site functions; and developing the Zoo conference
market.
Experience, Skills and Abilities
A high level of experience in planning and staging major events is
essential, as is knowledge of the functions and conference market. A
demonstrated ability to work individually, within a team and as an events
team leader; and experience in effectively managing budgets are
pre-requisites for the position.
A tertiary qualification in Public Relations, Marketing or related
discipline and knowledge of conservation and environmental issues are highly
desirable.
The successful applicant should be able to commence 16 June 2003. (Please
