Senior Financial Officer, Level 6
Office of Road Safety,
DEPARTMENT OF THE PREMIER AND CABINET
Salary: $60,378 - $66,859
The Office of Road Safety of the Department of the Premier and Cabinet invites expressions of interest from suitable applicants for this challenging acting/secondment opportunity for a period of twelve months with the possibility of extension.
Permanent public sector employees will be considered on a secondment/acting basis so please check with your department/supervisor for possible release prior to submitting your application.
Duties:
v Provides strategic direction and leadership in all aspects of the Division's financial management and modelling.
v Provides financial planning and process re-engineering and the development of risk management strategies to ensure achievement of business outcomes.
v Monitors and reports on divisional financial performance, optimises the cost-effectiveness of divisional resources, asset management and liaises on an ongoing basis with the financial management division.
Selection Criteria
ESSENTIAL:
v Eligibility for membership of the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants (ASCPA)
v Significant experience in the development and delivery of a broad range of financial management services Including: budget preparation, financial planning, management and reporting.
v Sound knowledge of and ability to apply the Financial Administration and Audit Act 1985 (FAAA) and other relevant legislation.
v Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to identify and meet customer needs.
v Demonstrated experience in effective contract management.
v Well developed conceptual and analytical skills.
v Project management skills, in particular the ability to deliver agreed outcomes on time and within budget.
v High level of competency in the use and application of a personal computer and relevant software packages including computerised financial systems, spreadsheets and word processing.
v Leadership and people management skills incorporating the principles of EEO and OH & S.
