        Expressions of interest are invited for the above temporary position.

        DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

                * Ensures the timely and relevant production and distribution of publications to disseminate relevant information to key stakeholders and the broad community
                * Ensures DOCEP publications meet departmental design and editorial standards
                * Develops and maintains networks within the department to ensure awareness of new issues and projects
                * Ensures internal networks are developed and maintained to capture and promote events, issues and policies for potential media exposure
                * Works with DOCEP staff to develop appropriate media liaison techniques and ensures that events, issues and policies are comprehensively marketed to the media
                * Ensures DOCEP advertising is managed and coordinated, consistent with the department's needs and priorities
                * Develops, maintains and promotes standards and policies which ensure consistency in DOCEP's internal and external communications
                * Ensures effective project and budget management
                * Ensures measurement of the team's outputs is consistent, valid and meets the department's needs and development objectives
                * Provides the Director with advice on managing the human, financial and physical resources of the team.

        SELECTION CRITERIA:
        ESSENTIAL

                * Demonstrated experience in the development of publications and delivery of marketing services
                * Highly developed written communication and editorial skills
                * Demonstrated interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cooperatively with others at all levels, including skills in consultation, negotiation and analysis
                * Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to lead individuals and groups through broad and continuing change processes
                * Ability to conceptualise and analyse issues, and think and act strategically, with a focus on outcomes and development of innovative solutions to complex problems
                * Experience in working with Government purchasing procedures in relation to contracting for services
