JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Over-representation Management Committee provides the overall direction for the work of this position, which will be oversighted by a Steering Committee comprising the Director, Aboriginal Policy and Services and General Manager, Community Justice Services.
The Project Officer under the joint direction of the Aboriginal Policy and Services and Community Justice Services is responsible for undertaking and supporting the analysis, development, review, implementation and finalisation of a range of projects assigned, or contribute as to part of a small team. Specific projects to be finalised or agreed milestones attained include the Pitlands Tri-jurisdictional Justice Initiative, Aboriginal Overrepresentation - Community Capacity Building, and the development of Urban / Metropolitan Engagement Model(s) for Aboriginal people.
WORK RELATED REQUIREMENTS (SELECTION CRITERIA):

Knowledge:
· Has knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal society and culture and can use such knowledge and understanding to effectively communicate with Aboriginal people, organisations and communities.
Qualification:
* Possession of or progression towards a relevant tertiary qualification, and/or an equivalent level of skills, knowledge and experience.
