JOB DESCRIPTION:
In accordance with the principles of inclusiveness, engagement, capacity building and collaboration, the successful candidate will be responsile for the application of the provisions of the relevant Departmental legislation policies and practices and a professional standard of welfare service, in accordance with social work standards, to individuals, families and the community.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
1(a). Relevant degree in the social and behavioural sciences or approved equivalent (remuneration at Level 2/4 Clause 11 applies).
OR
1(b). Relevant social welfare/community development experience (remuneration at Level 2/4 Clause 10 applies).
2. Ability to work constructively and effectively in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
3. Ability to apply the provisions of relevant legislation and work with families and individuals in a statutory relationship.
4. Demonstrated counselling skills.
5. Communication skills - oral, written and interpersonal.
6. Conceptual, diagnostic and analytical skills.
7 Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and ability to work with Aboriginal, culturally linguistically diverse
communities, families, individuals and young people.
8. Current motor vehicle driver's licence.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
9. Knowledge of departmental legislation and functional program areas.
10. Experience in working with youth.
11. Ability to use information technology.
