Title: Staff Development Officers

Period of Acting: Up to 6 months with possibility of an extension
Expressions of Interest are sought to fill two temporary positions, one at Level 4 and one at Level 5. Selection may be based on written application only. Interviews may be held if necessary.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The temporary positions are responsible for assisting with the final phase of the Inspector and Graduate Development Programme in the WorkSafe Operations Inspectorate. This includes finalising policies, programmes and strategies to meet divisional and staff development needs. The programme covers Criteria Progression; National Competencies for Workplace Inspection; and induction and ongoing training and development. The positions will be involved in the following key areas:
* Review Criteria Progression policy, guidelines and related material.
* Finalise the development of National Competencies for Workplace Inspection learning guides and assessment tools.
* Coordinate the 2004 Inspector Induction and Training Programme.
* Evaluate and review mentoring and coaching policies, guidelines and related material.
* Evaluate the linkage of mentoring and coaching with the department's Performance Development Review System.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience in staff development, curriculum or training environment (for Level 5 position only).
* Experience in planning, organising and evaluating.
* Demonstrated ability to create networks, maintain customer relationships and produce products/services consistent with customer needs.
* Demonstrated ability to achieve and deliver performance outcomes that meet organisational objectives.
DESIRABLE
* Knowledge and experience in Occupational Safety and Health.
* Possession of, or progression towards, a Certificate IV in Assessment and Training.
You will be appointed at a level commensurate with your skills, knowledge and experience.
