DURATION: 3 months
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As part of the Policy and Business Liaison team you will monitor, analyse and respond to key issues and trends impacting on small businesses and undertake research and analysis to enable you to address those issues and develop appropriate policy responses. You will also liaise with government and private sector representatives to identify small business priorities, resolve issues and promote small business interests. Policy review and development skills, research and analysis skills and well developed oral and written communication skills are essential.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Demonstrated policy review and development skills, including the ability to comprehend issues, make sound judgements and develop innovative solutions.
Demonstrated research and analysis skills.
Well developed oral communication skills and abilities, including negotiation, liaison, interpersonal and relationship skills.
Well developed written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team to achieve outcomes.
Demonstrated planning, organisational and project skills.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
Familiarity with small business operations and issues affecting the small business sector.
An understanding of the mechanisms of government.
Completion of, or progress towards, a relevant tertiary qualification.

COMMENTS:
This position is for an intitial period of 3 months with a possibility of an extension. Permanent public sector employees will be considered on a secondment/acting basis so please check with your home agency for possible release prior to submitting your application.
