JOB TYPE: Temporary Full-Time

DURATION: 6 months

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Expressions of Interest are invited from staff interested in acting in the above position from 19th January, 2004 up until the 23rd April 2004. The end date is subject to a branch restructure and there is a possibility that the period may be extended or shortened (by approximately a month).

The successful applicant for this opportunity will be required to:
         Administer and Support the Department�s LAN and Web Server Environment.
         Assist with the management and administration of the LAN/WAN and Desktop Technology contract.
         Liaise with internal customers and service providers to resolve LAN/WAN and Server related issues.
         Liaise with and support corporate project teams, including Portal and EBIS.
         Assist in the development of relevant standards and procedures
         Develop, implement and maintain standards for configuration management.
         Assist the desktop support team in resolution of LAN and Desktop issues.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Applicants are expected to provide evidence of competency in the following:

         Highly developed technical skills and knowledge directly relating to the duties of the position and the use of high quality work practices in achieving delivery of planned outcomes.
         Extensive experience in administering and supporting a Microsoft Windows LAN/WAN environment. Some Linux experience is also desirable.
         Communication skills of a high level; including verbal and written skills, and communication and negotiation skills.
         The ability to participate in a team environment, creating and maintaining the necessary conditions for productive work.
         The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with major stakeholders and customer/service groups.
         Monitor the external environment and be innovative in the application of trends and changes in the working environment.
         Ensure a customer focus in the delivery of outputs.
