Title: Public Affairs Officer
Level: 5
Job Type: Temporary Part-time (37.5hrs p/f)
Section/Branch: Policy and Evaluation
Period of Acting: 6 months commencing ASAP.
Expressions of interest are invited for the above position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position will be responsible for writing and coordinating the production of publications which includes disseminating these publications to the wider community. Your position is also responsible for designing, planning, coordinating, and promoting events such as launches, conferences and seminars. It is critical that applicants are highly experienced and proficient in the use of desktop publishing software packages such as InDesign or similar to produce publications.
Selection Criteria
* Excellent writing skills, including the capacity to write a broad range of materials for a variety of audiences (including the ability to write in plain English).
* Well developed interpersonal, oral communication and negotiation skills.
* Good organisational skills and capacity to meet deadlines.
* Understanding of how to implement marketing strategies.
* Ability to work effectively in both a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
* Ability to work in a sensitive environment, apply discretion and maintain confidentiality.
* Demonstrated understanding of the principles of equal opportunity.
