AWARD: PSA

SALARY: $46,641-$49,293

LEVEL: Level 4

LOCATION: Perth CBD

POSITION NUMBER: 201391

JOB TYPE: Temporary Full-Time

DURATION: 6 months with the possiblity of an extension

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The position provides advice on industrial relations issues and is required
to undertake, develop and/or coordinate changes to awards, agreements, human
resource policies, practices etc. The position is required to provide
advice to management at all levels and/or resolve workplace grievances and
disputes. The position represents the WAPS at conferences and hearings
before the relevant Industrial Relations Court or Tribunal.

The position investigates remuneration related claims and makes
recommendations for settlement of those claims. This position also
negotiates with unions, employees and employer representatives on industrial
matters.

External contacts include officers from other government agencies, including
the WA Industrial Relations Commission, external consultants and other
private sector organisations. The position is also required to liaise with
union representatives in regard to industrial issues. Within the agency the
position liaises with personnel of all ranks and classification level.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
        
Experience in industrial relations
Understanding of the State and Federal Industrial Relations Systems.
Knowledge and application of Employment Law.
Oral and written communication skills.
Interpersonal skills.
Analytical and conceptual ability.
Planning and organisational skills.
Knowledge of human resource policies, practices and procedures and an
ability to interpret relevant legislation, industrial awards, acts and
agreements
Knowledge of equal employment opportunity and occupational safety and health
principles.
Ability to manage ethical behaviour
