Job Description:
Under the guidance of the Manager, Workforce Strategy & Development and as part of the WSD team, the you will be responsible for:
- Providing a comprehensive consultancy service, assistance and advice on complex human resource management issues to management and staff in designated portfolio areas within the Department.
- Developing, implementing and evaluating workforce development strategies that support the recruitment, development and retention of high quality, appropriately skilled human resources for the department.
- Undertaking workforce, reporting, planning and forecasting activities to support workforce planning and human resource organisational development.
- Providing specialist human resources, redeployment and recruitment services advice and interpretation throughout the Department.
- Coordinating and contributing towards the research and development of human resource policy and related issues in conjunction with the HR Policy & Support area.
- Working collaboratively with HR managers to ensure integrated service provision.
- Establishing a service delivery culture, standards and style based upon honouring commitments, fostering team spirit and building relationships.
- Providing high quality service and advice that is proactive, solution focused and responsive to customer needs.
Selection Criteria:
Essential: HI - Highly Important, I - Important
Desirable: D - Desirable
ESSENTIAL
1. Certificate of secondary education (Year 10) or equivalent. (HI)
2. Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of contemporary human resource strategies and initiatives in organisational development/workforce planning. (HI)
3. Sound interpersonal, verbal, negotiation and written communication skills including report writing. (HI)
4. Demonstrated ability to provide expert employee relations advice to a broad range of people, including senior management and line managers. (HI)
5. Demonstrated experience in project management, research, analysis and presentation of workforce planning information (HI)
6. Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary human resource management principles and practice. (HI)
7. Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships; facilitate process review groups and a commitment to quality customer service principles. (I)
DESIRABLE
8. A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline. (D)
9. Current knowledge and commitment to equal opportunity in all aspects of employment and service delivery. (D)
