Records Consultant
Level 5 or 6, depending on experience
(6 months temporary position)

An opportunity exists for an experienced Records person to provide
consultation services to Legal Aid in the development of a Records Keeping
Plan and to address the findings of an audit report into the Records
Management function of Legal Aid.

Duties include:
        * Reviewing records keeping practices for the whole of Legal
Aid
        * Developing policies and procedures for records management,
which incorporate the Quality Practice Standards (QPS) of the Legal Practice
        * Developing the Records Keeping Plan
        * Evaluating records management systems
        * Developing an implementation plan for the Records Keeping
Plan and records management system
        * Transferring knowledge to and training of Records Project
Coordinator, Records staff and other Legal Aid staff.

Essential Selection Criteria are:
        * Extensive experience in Records Management
        * Previous experience in developing a Records Keeping Plan to
meet the requirements of the State Records Act 2000
        * Demonstrated ability to develop policies and procedures
        * Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge and train staff
from all parts of an organisation
        * Experience with electronic Records Management Systems.
