Expressions of interest are sought from interested staff to be seconded/contracted into the following position for an initial period of two months. The position will be advertised in the Intersector and The West Australian 9/5 & 10/5 respectively.
Family & Domestic Violence Unit
Policy and Engagement Officer (POO3110)
Level 5 Salary Range $51,884 - $57,342
The position is responsible for providing policy advice based on inclusion, engagement, building capacity and collaboration on directions and emerging issues for family and domestic violence in Western Australia and liaises with Indigenous and CALD communities to develop and ensure an awareness of family and domestic violence policy and funding programs.
ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA:
1. Demonstrated ability to:
a) Consult, engage and negotiate with individuals and groups.
b) Present issues for consideration and resolution by government/the community and other stakeholders.
2. Demonstrated experience in:
a) Managing projects and writing reports.
b) Producing high quality materials for public communication purposes.
c) Working with and socially and culturally diverse communities.
3. Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of :
a) Awareness of Aboriginal and/or CALD issues in relation to family and domestic violence.
b) Community engagement principles and methods.
c) Community education principles and methods.
