LOCATION - SHENTON PARK

 

TEMPORARY DEPLOYMENT SECONDMENT/ACTING/FIXED TERM CONTRACT UP TO 6 MONTHS
OPPORTUNITY. Due to the short term nature of the position secondees or
temporary deployees should seek approval in principle from their agency to
be released to take up the position prior to applying for the vacancy.

 

PLEASE NOTE: This position is available to existing employees within the
Public Sector Only.

 

COMMENCING AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

 

RESEARCH OFFICER - LEVEL 4

 

$46,641 to $49,293

 

The duties of the position include:

*

        Conducts environmental scans of workers' compensation systems and
data to identify issues requiring further investigation relevant to the
development of the Western Australian worker's compensation and
rehabilitation scheme.
*

        Designs research methodologies and work plans and either undertakes
or co-ordinates research, analysis and evaluation of relevant data and
literature in relation to research projects.
*

        Liaises with external agencies, stakeholders and various interstate
and international bodies, to identify best practice models and procedures
for workers' compensation and rehabilitation.

Selection Criteria

 

ESSENTIAL

 

1. Sound written (including report writing), interpersonal and verbal
communication skills.

2. Sound research and investigation skills.

3. Sound analytical and problem solving skills.

4. Experience in project management, planning and implementation.

5. Good personal computer skills.

 

DESIRABLE

 

1. Knowledge of the workers' compensation system.

2. Experience in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database and
information presentation packages.

3. Possession of, or progress towards, a relevant tertiary
qualification.

4. Eligible licence to drive a "C" class vehicle in WA..

5. Knowledge of EEO and OSH principles.
