Burglary Reduction Pilot Project
Office of Crime Prevention
DEPARTMENT OF THE PREMIER AND CABINET
Salary: $51,884 - $57,342

The Office of Crime Prevention of the Department of the Premier and Cabinet invites expressions of interest from suitable applicants for this challenging acting/secondment opportunity for a period of twelve months.

Permanent public sector employees will be considered on a secondment/acting basis so please check with your department/supervisor for possible release prior to submitting your application.

Duties:
Coordinate and assist the management of two Burglary Reduction Pilots in metropolitan sites. This will involve acting as the liaison between the management groups in the sites and the Office of Crime Prevention.

Selection Criteria
ESSENTIAL:
v Well developed oral and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reasoned advice and communicate effectively with representatives from the State Government, Local Government and the community.
v Interpersonal skills, including negotiation skills and ability to liaise effectively with Local Government, senior officers in the public and private sectors and members of the community.
v Proven time management and organisational skills.
v Ability to identify resource needs to ensure that project outcomes are met.
v Ability to work in a team environment.
v Knowledge of the processes of government and the role of key agencies.
v Knowledge and experience of government policies, initiatives and current issues in relation to crime prevention.
v Knowledge and experience of computer applications, including MS Word and Excel.
v Possession of a current A class motor driver license.
v Successful completion of Year 10 high school.

DESIRABLE:
v Understanding of burglary and current issues relating to crime prevention.
v Relevant tertiary qualifications or progress towards a relevant tertiary qualification.
v Ability to develop and maintain electronic databases, preferably with MS Access.
