Expressions of interest are invited for the above position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Compliance Officer is required to undertake complex investigations to determine compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. . The Senior Compliance Officer works as a part of a team delivering a holistic compliance program related to a particular industry area, and may be required to mentor staff involved in the compliance program. The Officer will assist developing and implementing strategies to promote industry compliance and consumer protection. The officer will advise customers on matters relating to Finance Broking, Land Valuation and Consumer Protection legislation.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Experience
* Substantial experience in a compliance environment including substantial experience in investigating breaches of statutes, preparation of prosecution briefs and presenting evidence in a court or tribunal.
Knowledge and Skills:
* Demonstrated well developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work cooperatively with others at all levels, including skills in consultation and negotiation in complex situations.
* Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret contracts and/or mortgage transactions to ensure compliance with law.
* Demonstrated commitment to the achievement of a customer focus to ensure that the needs of clients are met.
* Demonstrated well developed ability to think and act strategically with a focus on outcomes.
* Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation.
Desirable
* An understanding of the land titles system in Western Australia and the relationship with charges and securities over titles.
