TRAINING AND ACCOUNTS OFFICER Level 2 (part time at 0.4) Casual OfficerPro rata 0.4 of $35,952, plus 20% in lieu 5 days Mon-Fri @ 3 hours per day, from 8:00am to 11:00amto 30 June 2004 with possibility of continuing ABOUT IPAA (WA DIVISION) The Institute of Public Administration Australia is a national independent organisation (not part of government) which exists to advance the study and practice of public administration. IPAA provides a range of services to its members and the public sector across Commonwealth, State and Local Governments. More information about IPAA (WA) is available on our website at www.wa.ipaa.org.au The Business Office of the WA Division consists of a General Manager and several support staff. It is currently located at 81 St George's Tce Perth and will move to 197 St George's Tce Perth (corner Mill Street) in January 2004. THE JOB As IPAA is not part of government, this is not a public service position. This is a new position at IPAA, created to handle the increased responsibility and volume of the Training and Accounts Receivable functions in the IPAA Business Office. The position has two main roles- Accounts Receivable Supervisor;- Training Officer for IPAA's program of small group training courses. We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic and energetic person to play an important role in coordinating the Training Program, and taking the major role in the Accounts Receivable function with the help of the Administration Assistant. You will be part of a small team dedicated to providing IPAA's members and the public service generally with professional and timely services. It is imperative that you enjoy organising, are attentive to details, and take pride in the accuracy of your work. This is a part-time position on casual contract. The wages include 20% loading in lieu of annual leave, sick leave, long service leave and payment for public holidays. The position is available initially until 30 June 2004 with possibility of continuation. It is essential that you are available to start at 8:00am daily, or (usually once a month) at 7:00am when IPAA holds its regular breakfast seminars SELECTION CRITERIA Essential Accounts receivable experience Book-keeping qualifications and / or experience Customer service experience in a staff Training environment Speed and accuracy in using a computer Good organisational ability and time management skills Energetic team member with good 'people' skills Desirable Experience in using the Summit Events Management software program (particularly the 'Summit Light' package), or other events management software RESPONSIBILITIES As Training Officer: q Coordinate training courses, including entering participant registrations into the Summit Events Management software program, book and arrange venues, catering, audio visual equipment, coordinate course material, and liaise with training course presenters. q Attend start-up of each training course (average 5 per month) to register participants. q Supervise the preparation and quality of training course materials (undertaken by a Level 1 Administration Assistant). q Assist the Events Officer on the day with monthly major events such as breakfast seminars. As Accounts Receivable Supervisor: q Daily accounts receivable processing, reconciliation, and reporting to the Treasurer. q Respond to the more complex accounts receivable inquiries and follow up overdue accounts. Other: q General administrative duties including some filing.
