                Expressions of interest are sought to fill the above position for a period of six (6) months with the possibility of a short extension.

                The Government Procurement Branch is seeking a Gem Service Centre Officer to provide a registration, problem solving and information service to GEM buyers and suppliers and to promote and sell GEM services and assist in activation of GEM suppliers and buyers.

                The successful applicant will require good interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver a quality customer service, demonstrated ability to analyse customer problems and provide effective solutions.

                Interested persons should submit a brief statement of their claim against each of the selection criteria to Mike King, Manager Gem Service Centre, Government Procurement (mike.king@dtf.wa.gov.au <mailto:mike.king@dtf.wa.gov.au>) by 5:00pm, Wednesday, 15 October 2003.

                SELECTION CRITERIA:
ESSENTIAL:
        1. Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver a quality customer service.
        2. Demonstrated ability to analyse customer problems and provide effective solutions.
        3. Good communication skills with the ability to communicate difficult concepts to external clients.
        4. Demonstrated experience with PC applications including proficiency with Word and Excel.
        5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
        6. Demonstrated experience in a customer service environment or in the provision of 'help desk' support services.
DESIRABLE:
        1. Knowledge of the Internet and its applications.

        2. Knowledge of the Gem suite of products and services.

                Appointment to this temporary vacancy is conditional upon the successful applicant being released from their substantive duties for the term of the temporary vacancy. Prior to applying for this EOI applicants should obtain an indication from their immediate manager of their ability to be released if they are successful.
