JOB DESCRIPTION:
Pilbara TAFE invites expressions of interest from suitable applicants for
this challenging and rewarding role. The appointment is for 12 months with
option of renewal or permanency depending on the requirements of the College.
The role of the Director is to work with the Managing Director and senior
management team to lead the operations of the Training Services
Directorate, incorporating Mechanical, Electrotechnology, Business and
Management, Community Services, Service Industry Training and Fee For
Service activity. Managers for these responsibilities operate from various
locations throughout the Pilbara.
In addition to undertaking the responsibilities outlined in the JDF the
successful applicant will respond to a number of key priority areas,
including:
* Servicing the Burrup and other resource projects in the region
* Government priorities for Vocational Education and Training
* Developing an intersectorial campus on the Karratha Campus
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
1 Demonstrated ability and considerable experience in strategic and
operational planning, implementation and review.
2 Demonstrated ability and considerable experience in the planning
and management of education and training relevant to the public
and commercial training services of the division.
3 Successful experience in the application of the principles of
quality management in a senior position.
4 Successful experience in team leadership utilizing a participative
management style.
5 Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills in dealing with
internal and external clients and stakeholders.
6 Considerable knowledge of current issues in vocational education
and training.
7 Demonstrated high level skills in analysis and evaluation and in
written and verbal presentations.
DESIRABLE
8 Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
