TITLE: FESA Fleet Engineering Officer

JOB TYPE: Temporary Full-Time
DURATION: 6 months
JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Provides specialist Technical advice and support to FESA divisions in respect to vehicles and associated equipment.
2. Develops technical specifications, participates in tender evaluation and contract managers assigned projects for services related to FESA’s fleet of vehicles and associated equipment.
3. Provides specific training to technical and operational personnel during the commissioning of vehicles and associated equipment.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
1. Relevant trade qualification or equivalent appropriate experience.
2. Experience in the development of procurement plans, work-plans and specifications for the procurement and ongoing maintenance requirements of fleet and equipment.
3. Ability to interpret and utilise technical drawings and schematics.
4. Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
5. Proven experience in all aspects of Contract Management with private sector suppliers.
6. Demonstrated commitment to customer service with the ability to develop positive relationships.
7. Proven written and verbal communication skills, including well-developed liaison and public relations skills.
8. Commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, and Equal Opportunity principles and practices.
9. Sound word processing skills and experience with computerised windows based software packages, including database, presentation and spreadsheets.
10. Current, unconditional heavy ridged (HR) motor vehicle driver’s license.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
1. Wide range of experience within a multi disciplinary fire fighting fleet and associated equipment environment.
2. Knowledge of Public Sector procurement and contract management policies and procedures.
