JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Assistant Ombudsman's role is to provide strategic leadership and
direction in relation to the Office's handling of complaints about
public sector agencies (other than the Police Service and Westrail
Special Constables) by managing a team of investigators to achieve
desired outcomes.
***The Parliamentary Commissioner for Administrative Investigations
(the Ombudsman) invites expressions of interest from suitable applicants
for this challenging opportunity for a period of six months, with a
possible extension of up to six months**
COMMENTS:

responsibilities, duties and selection criteria of the position.
Please note that, before commencing duty, the successful applicant will
be required to take an oath or affirmation not to divulge any
information received under the terms of the Parliamentary Commissioner
Act 1971, except in accordance with that Act.
Appointments to the Office are made by the Governor in Executive
Council on the recommendation of the Ombudsman. Permanent public sector
employees who wish to retain their current position would need to take
leave without pay from their agency for the duration of the appointment.
Please check with your department or supervisor for possible release on
this basis prior to submitting your application.
If an offer of employment is made, appointment will be dependent upon
the provision of a police clearance certificate.
