TITLE: Information Management Officer

AWARD: PSA

SALARY: $35,952 - $39,946

LEVEL: Level 2

JOB TYPE: Temporary Full-Time

DURATION: 6 months

JOB DESCRIPTION:
 Answers enquiries from clients, government agencies and community groups made via the telephone information service or in person. Recommends the appropriate agency or community organisation or group which could provide further assistance and/or counselling.
 Engages with government agencies, community organisations and service providers regarding initiatives and strategies which target OWP clients.
 Researches, organises and maintains a range of databases to assist with appropriate referral.
 Assists in researching, editing, publishing and distributing the OWP promotional material.
 Assists with special projects and promotional activities of the Office, including presentations, displays and conferences.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Demonstrated ability to
1. Ability to work and contribute within a team environment
2. Utilise Microsoft Word, Excel and Access and general office equipment
3. Work to a project plan and meet set out comes.

Demonstrated experience and knowledge in
4. Issues which affect all women.
5. Communicating with clients including the ability to demonstrate sensitivity, and awareness of cross-cultural issues.
6. Assist with events management.
7. Applying excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate and liaise on behalf of clients with government agencies, community organisations and other service providers.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
1. Knowledge of government policies relating to women’s issues.
2. Knowledge of government agencies and community organisations and their functions.
3. Knowledge of equity and access issues impacting on minority women’s groups.
