JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the guidance of the Employee Services Officer and as part of the Employee Services team, the Employee Services
Assistant is responsible for:
 Providing advice to Departmental line managers on recruitment, selection and assessment methods, vacancy
management, employee transfers, secondments and management of expressions of interest.
 Providing recruitment and selection processes for line managers within the Department.
 Entering data related to electronic DCD HR vacancy registrations and redeployee registration (Jobs Online support).
 Assisting the Employee Services Officer with establishment matters.
 Contributing towards the research and development of human resource policy.
 Working collaboratively with HR managers and staff to ensure integrated service provision.
 Establishing a service delivery culture, standards and style based upon honouring commitments, fostering team spirit
and building relationships.
 Providing a high quality service and advice that is proactive and solution focussed and responsive to customer needs.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
1. Certificate of secondary education (Year 10) or equivalent. HI
2. Knowledge of the Public Sector Standards in Human Resource Management and compliance
requirements related to recruitment and selection policies and practices.

3. Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to prepare reports. HI
4. Current knowledge of contemporary human resource management principles and practice. HI
5. Demonstrated ability to prioritise, organise and finalise tasks and projects with minimal supervision to
assist in analysing issues, developing and implementing solutions and work as part of a team.

6. Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service principles. I

7. A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline. D
