Job Type: Temporary Part-time (45hrs p/f)
Section/Branch: Community Education & Training
Period of Acting: 4 months with possible 2 month extension, commencing 23 February 2004.
Expressions of interest are invited for the above position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position is responsible for answering telephone enquiries from customers regarding training sessions conducted by the Commission, assisting with the preparation and delivery of training sessions (including training materials), keeping accurate records, entering relevant data into the Commission's database as well as assisting Commission staff as required.
It is important that applicants have strong skills and experience using Microsoft Publisher, Ms Office Professional and PowerPoint.
Duties
        * Answers general queries about training conducted by the Commission. Provides general information and advice on administrative aspects of training programs.
        * Assists with the organisation of training sessions, as directed by the Manager Community Education and Training.
        * Maintains records associated with training conducted by the Commission, including taking course registrations.
        * Provides reports on administrative aspects of training conducted by the Commission, as directed by the Manager Community Education and Training.
        * Types, formats and prepares training manuals, to ready-for-print stage. Arranges printing of documents used for training conducted by the Commission.
        * Enters data into/and maintains relevant database.
        * Provides reports on trends and issues associated with training data.
        * Undertakes other administrative duties as required.
 SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
 * Ability to demonstrate well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
* Sound problem-solving skills.
* Initiative and organisational skills.
* A high level of competency in word processing, and proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and data base computer applications.
* Ability and willingness to work effectively in a team environment.
* Ability to work with limited supervision.
* Some understanding of equal opportunity principles and practices
