JOB TYPE: Temporary Full-Time

DURATION: 5 months

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is a secondment opportunity for 4 – 5 months commencing as soon as possible, however an additional position may also be filled through this process should the position become available. Appointment to this temporary vacancy is conditional upon the successful applicant being released from their substantive duties for the term of the temporary vacancy. Prior to applying for this EOI applicants should obtain an indication from their immediate manager of their ability to be released if they are successful.

The position will be required to:
· Assist with the implementation and maintenance of various human resource management initiatives and programs.
· Review classification submissions for restructures of business units and individual positions and make recommendations to the Classification Review Committee (CRC).
· Maintain relevant position data on the department’s HR information management systems and JDF system.
· Provide advice to staff on human resource management matters.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
1. Well-developed oral and interpersonal communication skills.

2. Well-developed report writing skills (investigative)

3. Demonstrated analytical ability.

4. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and unsupervised at times.

5. Knowledge of Public Service Classification Guidelines and Procedures.

6. Sound working knowledge of the Public Sector Management Act, Regulations and other employment related legislation including the application of Public Sector Standards, Awards and employment agreements.

7. Sound working knowledge of Concept, HRMIS or similar system.

8. Highly competent in the use of computer applications that include Microsoft Word and Excel or similar software products.
