JOB TYPE: Temporary Full-Time
DURATION: 6 months
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Plans and leads complex Information Systems development projects involving the analysis, design, programming, testing and maintenance of computer programs.
Liaises with internal and external clients, contractors and consultants to ensure Information Systems developments are in accordance with specifications, meet with the Commission’s standards and procedures, and satisfy functional information requirements
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
EXPERIENCE
 Demonstrated experience in the analysis, design, development and implementation of complex information systems.
 Experience with modern relational databases (preferably Oracle).
 Demonstrated project management experience and skills.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
 Demonstrated contract management skills.
 High level systems design and programming skills.
 Well developed analytical and problem solving skills.
 Good interpersonal, written and oral communication.
 Well developed knowledge of systems development methodologies.
 Understanding of, and commitment to, Equal Employment Opportunity and Occupational Safety and Health principles and practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
 Tertiary qualifications and/or substantial relevant experience in an Information Technology field.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
EXPERIENCE
 Experience in the development and/or use of scientific / natural resource (water) related information systems.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
 Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems.
 Knowledge of technical computing infrastructure.
