Expressions of Interest are sought to act in the following position for an
initial period between 5 December 2003 and 27 February 2004. The WA Police
Service wishes to fill this position and create a pool of suitable
applicants to fill other, similar, positions as they arise up to June 2004.

ROLE OF THE POSITION:
The major responsibility of the position is to ensure the accuracy of the
expenditure postings. The position ensures the integrity of accounts
payments and investigates duplicate payments and initiates appropriate
follow up action when necessary.
The position is also responsible for maintaining control of the Corporate
Credit cards and, assists in the review and implementation of accounting
policies and procedures. The position is required to supervise and train
staff under its control.
Internally the position liaises with personnel from within the various
portfolios. Externally the position liaises with various customers and
vendors.
ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA:
* Oral and written communication skills.
* Interpersonal skills.
* Problem solving skills
* Experience in financial accounting procedures and practices.
* Ability to work in a team environment.
* Ability to manage ethical behaviour.
