DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you interested in being part of the small but dynamic FuelWatch team responsible for regulating fuel prices in WA?

The Research Officer undertakes research projects relating to legislative and policy initiatives and services for the Petroleum Products Pricing Unit.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
Essential:
Experience:

* Demonstrated experience, skills and knowledge in research and statistical methods, analysing and collating information.
* Demonstrated experience or ability to understand database structures and the utilisation of software applications to maintain and interrogate databases.
* Demonstrated ability or experience in the use of statistical analysis techniques and the ability to convey meaningful results to stakeholders.
* Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write reports, non-standard correspondence, discussion material, Ministerials and briefing notes.
* Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to be innovative in solving problems of a complex nature.
* Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and be flexible and organised in working within a team and with clients.

Desirable:

        * Demonstrated experience in interpreting, applying and communicating requirements of legislation to stakeholders.
        * Possession of, or progress toward a tertiary qualification
