Commencing as soon as possible for a six month period
The Economic Regulation Authority was established on 1 January 2004. As the organisational structure for the Authority is being developed the job description for this position is under review.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Manages the review and evaluation of applications from gas pipeline service providers in accordance with the Gas Pipelines Access (Western Australia) Act 1998, manages professional support on economic, financial, policy, legislative and regulatory matters and manages public consultation processes.
SELECTION CRITERIA
ESSENTIAL
Substantial work related experience in the analysis of and reporting on economic, financial, policy and legislative matters. Demonstrated ability to manage research and carry out sensitive investigations. Organisation, management and planning skills. Substantial experience in the management of outsourced consultancy work. Excellent communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills to relate and deal sensitively with those impacted on by the regulatory area. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
DESIRABLE
Substantial knowledge of the natural gas industry particularly in relation to the transmission and distribution of gas. Knowledge of regulation and its practical application to monopoly structures including gas pipelines. Knowledge of pricing and statistical methods and accounting standards, principles and practices. Experience with the use of personal computers and standard software. Current knowledge and commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity and Occupational Safety and Health principles and practices.
